Taming down the Neon trend!

Hi friends!

I have been enjoying summer like the world is about to come to an end. Last week I was out the entire weekend except when it was time to go to sleep and sleep only lasted about 4 to 5 hours a night. But I am thankful and glad I was able to spend some much needed time with close friends (when I say close I mean people I will die for) and family.  I also got some much needed time with the boys aka hubby’s troop! I understand sometimes they get a bit much when all they want to do is sit and play video games non stop. Now don’t get me wrong I am actually down with playing video games but when I play with them, they take a bit too easy on me. Come on…just cause I am a girl doesn’t mean we can’t have a fair fight. Anyway all this brought back the gamer in me. I remembered the days when me and my older brother would spend hours playing video games as kids and teenagers. So I decided to invest in my own controller and a game that really interested me- injustice gods among us anyone?

Anyway now the outfit in the pictures. I have been meaning to wearing some neon for quite some time now. It is actually the trend of the year.I have to say, this outfit surprised me- I knew it looked good but I didn’t know it actually would picture this well. I wanted to tame the neon a bit because when we think wearing neon we think over the top, casual or beachy. But I thought pairing it with sheer lace peplum top and metallic belt gave it a very sophisticated and evening look. You can actually wear this look to family get togethers, dinner parties or even just a romantic dinner. Gosh you could even do night out with friends or what not.  I have even considered wearing it to work! Well my job we do very formal outfits on special events days otherwise we can be business casual- where we will sometimes sporadically find coworkers leaning too close to casual on days they aren’t dealing with public but we never wear Jeans! -never!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well and let me know if you are planning to jump on the neon trend this summer?

Memorial Day Outfit: Beyonce for H&M with my twist to make it unique

Hi lovelies,

As I had promised in my haul video that I will be finding creative ways to somewhat alter the Mrs Carter for H&M dresses so can be considered alittle unique. This dress is probably the hardest since its printed and is already black and white. I had thought of several different ways of wearing it and some of which I might be doing in a post soon on how you can convert this dress into other things other than just “A DRESS” :)
I was looking for a belt. A big bold Leather cuff style belt but had no luck so I ended up creating one on my own. Nope and it didnt need any gluing or stitching together. Let me know if you are interested in knowing how to recreate this belt. This gave me ideas to recreate several other belts on the whim for dresses and skirts.

I had planned to put a crop leather jacket on top but it got really warm today and decided to not go for it. Maybe that will be an addition for Fall or next spring weather. After looking at the picture I realized the print is VERY close to camo print. I don’t know I had a different idea of this dress all along and now I am wondering if everyone else is in the same boat. Either way I still love the dress. It is very comfy and breezy.

You Scream, I Scream, We all scream for Army Green!

Hi lovelies,

As promised I have a gajillion outfit posts from the past few days. The weather is getting better and I don’t have to bundle up in a million layers with a jacket on top anymore. I get cold easy :)

Army green has always been one of my most fave trend. I love anything camo as well. I have been caught wearing army green and como even when it wasnt a trend haha. So ofcourse it isnt a surprise that I will immediately pull anything and everything army green out of my closet. This dress has to be one of my most expensive purchases as H&M butttttt I just couldnt not have it once I tried it on and I loved the gold detailing on the dress. Hubby and I went out to eat lunch and then we decided to stop by our public library for these pictures. It just recently got renovated and it has to be the cutest and most serene little place with little ponds and gardens. Hubby and I love books and reading so we plan to go back and stand an entire afternoon just looking through books – ah geeks much? :)

What do you think about the army green trend?

OOTD: Orange Skinnies Springing into Spring!

Hi lovelies,

It has been a long long time since I last posted an outfit post. I actually have accumulated quite a few posts and should be putting them up regularly. This outfit was worn a few weeks ago when I went out with my hubby and parents for lunch at Fogo De Chao. One of my fave Brazilian steakhouse. This is probably the first time I wore my orange skinnies and ever since then I have been obsessed with them! I dress slightly more conservative around my parents so I didn’t want to go over the top with showing skin. It’s a cultural thing we do out of respect for our parents don’t know how else to explain it. Anyhow given that fact this outfit will be perfect for a lunch get together in a more formal setting.

The pictures were taken at La Madeline where hubby and I later went for dessert since mom and dad had to rush off back to work. I love that place cause of their mini desserts and ah coffee that comes out  in a REAL CUP. I hate this about US, coffee is always given in to go cups well atleast where I live at.I miss Europe and middle east because of that.

Anyhow let me know what you think of the outfit and what color skinnies are you currently obsessed with?

I am Back!!! Leather, Metal and Snake Print!

Hi Sweeties,

Today was one of the warmest days of 2013! I was a little worried because I have been extremely sick for the past 3 days and I was scared that I might be in bed all day today instead of going out and having a ball. Thanks to my hubby who fed me pretty well the last two days and forced me to get out of bed and shower in hopes it will make feel fresher mentally. IT DID! not only I got to go out but I also recorded my new haul video!!! Sooo excited to edit and share it with you all soon this week.

I decided to wear my latest edition to my closet the H&M tweed dress. I just love how it fits on me. We still dragged along my spare wool jacket incase I feel cold or start getting sick again. I did have my moments when I felt faint but it was a beautiful day. We went to one of the oldest part of our city which is literally my backyard! I am excited because its full of antique shops, cute lil stores, coffee shops etc. We stopped by Bean Hollow and I had the best ever Chai Frappe! We also bought a humongous Cherry cheese danish to share! We took all that fun stuff to the park. Walked around and ate. After that we went to my fave burger place and I stuffed my self with some delicious food :) All in all a productive day….hopefully this will not wear me out to make me sicker tomorrow…lets keep our fingers crossed.

Back to Classics: Black and White

Hi Sweeties,

This was my outfit on MLK Day. I wanted something casual yet slightly rough and tough. I also havent worn all black in a while so I decided to opt for black and white. All we did was go out to eat and then run some errands. Midway through the day I developed a horrible migraine (On going issue cause of my allergies and having mold in my place which we are moving from in 15 days!) I was going to give up on not taking pictures but I was like you know what I am going to do it! I am going to push. I always think about the models on American’s Next Top Model who have to go through crazy things to get a good picture taken. Clearly I didnt have the top model strength cause the pictures actually show my pain lol. Need to work harder on that I guess.

Team Purple Rough and Tough in leather- Go Ravens

Hi lovelies,

Today is the big day well one of the big days in Football. My team the Ravens has officially won the Division Championship and we are one game away from Super Bowl (in American Football for those of you who are reading this from other parts of the world :) )I hated American Football about 3 years ago. I grew up over seas and Cricket and Soccer (err which is what REAL FOOTBALL IS everywhere but in America lol)

Anyhow I had to work at a NFL Store and its my habit to know my products really well so I decided to dwell into American Football world. 3 weeks down the road I am routing for the Ravens and screaming at the TV screen like a maniac. Now when there is a Ravens game on TV I refuse to leave the house or have to be around  TV where ever I go.

As each week progressed I was going nah lets give our team another weak and I’ll do an outfit Post with my Jersey as an Outfit. And when better to do it then this week? This was taken on Day one of my Purple Jersey weekend. I had initially decided to wear something purple the entire week but instead I decided to just wear my Jersey every single day of the weekend! Girls whether you like football or not this is one of the cutest ways to pull a Jersey off and still look feminine and cute. If you have an invitation to a Super Bowl Party. All you need is YOUR jersey or just borrow a friends, boyfriends, brothers, sisters or whoevers. Put a longer tank top on to cover your behind in those tights to keep it classy unless you dont care everything hanging out. I just find covering my behind classier :) And then put the jersey on! I wear mine with leather leggings and if going out with a leather jacket as well. Makes me feel cute but tough..like I can chow on some bones of the team we are going against…Yeah I gets pretty aggressive. My friends are always stunned at how someone can be as nice as me but a complete opposite of that when watching football. And no we are not talking about curse words or bad words…I am just plain violent and competitive lol

Anyhow heres to hoping Ravens are going to Kill the Pats tonight and we will head to Super Bowl… GO team Purple!

Outfit: Embodying my Surroundings – Mint, Winter Forrest and Fog

Hi Lovelies!

Friday was a horrible day for me. I lost my mind at work too much going on at once. Sad part about me losing my mind is that I actually had gotten good news that a new person has been hired who will be taking over their tasks next month! Which means I will officially be only doing 2 people’s job till my new supervisor learn the ropes and picks up her stuff off my plate. All the stress lead to a migraine and I decided to leave work half an hour early. And then I was disappointed in myself cause I was doing so well with my motto of being happy and not letting things get to me but honestly my desk has so much stuff on it that I can’t even put my lunch down on it :( I have to work harder on the stressing out thing! School is only a month away and I have signed up for two grad school classes…yah…stupid me…Always trying to be an over achiever.

Anyhow I guess someone upstairs love me enough to give us 53 degree weather in January on the East coast! And to kill stress I decided to go out to the Park by the lake with Hubby before the Ravens Games. And I specifically decided to wear this outfit cause I wanted to embody my surroundings! The trees, winter mint and water! I completely forgot to take a picture of hubby. It was interesting cause we were both dressed up to later go watch the game at a nice restaurant and one guy stopped to compliment both of us. Ah maybe we were a bit overdressed for the park? hahaha but I just wanted to walk around cause the weather so nice!

Hows the weather at where you guys living at? Is it just as crazy and unpredictable for you as it is here. We are usually freezing by this time but I was able to walk around in a mini with no stockings and I was completely fine!

Snake Print mixes with Faux Fur…Audrey Hepburn gloves make it Classic

Hi lovelies!

I am bouncing around lately full of energy. I am not sure if you can pick it up with my more frequent posting and all the insane things I am lately getting into like cooking a hardcore Indian Meal after a long day at work. Trust me Recipes are definitely going up this week at some point! The reason behind me being full of energy? I gave up on the concept of “I’ll do this tomorrow”. If something needs to be done its needs to be done now! No more waiting for the tomorrow that never comes. And being positive and over all happy has been going good so far in 2013! One thing to do when stressed out is to keep in perspective what you can or can’t do. Most people get overwhelmed over trying to do something unattainable or just being plain hopeless. If all else fails take a nap if possible or find therapeutic things to do. I have started kneading dough and rolling it to make breads and such cause i love the motion haha..sound silly? maybe…but it helps.

Anyhow can you Imagine I wore this outfit in 30 Fahrenheit weather? I mean I really thought this Faux fur vest wont be that warm but meanwhile my hubby froze while taking pictures of me in his jacket  I was a happy camper being all furry! I don’t know initially I had a whole different idea of how I was going to wear this fur Vest the first time but it changed last minute and I was very please with the result. I loved my adjustable gloves that can become long or short and putting jewelry on top of them reminded me of Audrey Hepburn! Timeless and Classic.

What do you all think of this outfit?

New Years’ Eve: Outfit and 3 Course Home Cooked Meal

Hi dearies – HAPPY NEW YEAR

I am  back in the grind of the work life starting yesterday but I wanted to make this year a better one for myself and my blog. oh and not to forget my family. I would have to say the last week of December 2012 was the best ever for me. I had time off from work, got to spend time with family and didn’t have to look at the clock ticking going “times running out and I have so much to do still” Life just came to a halt nothing mattered except good company, food and laughter!

I want to extend this into my year 2013. I want to be a positive happy me, the one who had her head on straight during the holidays. So I am coming up with cures for stress and recipes on how to avoid it when it surfaces its ugly head. Look out for those on my blog this year :)

Anyhow so this new years I decided to stay in. First we were going to have a house party but due to us moving out in about a month due to mold allergies in my current place I am in the midst of packing. Therefore the party got cancelled and I found out they had “The Twilight Zone” marathon on for 48 hours straight so that led to a lot of snuggle time, snacks and shrieks of excitement from me on all the spooky stories they played.

My inner chef woke up and wanted to prepare a meal from scratch. The menu got changed last minute because I didn’t want to do the tried and tested cause oh that would just be so boring! After careful thinking for about an hour and looking into the refrigerator and pantry I came up with the following menu:

1) Mozzarella Cheese Balls

2) Italian Style Garlic Oregano Chicken with veggies mixed in squash farfalle pasta

3) Callas (Dessert made of fried rice balls yum!)

I will be posting recipes to these items on here soon so if your interested check them out :)

I also wore a non traditional New Years Dress for me. Most of the time I wear tight fitting or bodycon style dresses. This time I wanted to wear something frilly, girlie and fun and found this perfect dress in my closet that I haven’t touched the entire year of 2012! What do you think?
